Hints 'n Tips

When shading, make sure you use a low opacity/pressure.

Use whatever paint program or tools you feel is the best. Owning a copy Photoshop doesn't make you a better artist.

If your shading is looking all clumpy, use the smudge tool set to about 20%. This tool can help create smooooooooth looking gradients.

The only way to get better, is to practice. Do a search on google for skinning tutorials and collect all the tutorials you can get your dirty little hands on.

Experiment with different tools, settings and techniques to find the one which you think is the best.

Try not to use photos in your skins (You can use them on faces, however), you wont get any better artistically if you use them. Trust me, there is nothing better then sitting back at your finished skin and looking at it and thinking to yourself....damn! I did that?!?! sweet! that looks really cool!

HAVE FUN!!! I know this sounds stupid but unless you're liking what your skinning, then chances are it will turn out like crap.

Don't be afraid to start over again. I know there has been times when I've done something over and over and over, until I was satisfied.
